Think and grow fat?

If you look at yourself in the mirror and think, wow! I am fat.  How does that actually make you fat?  Thinking or believing you are fat is not a positive attitude.  Negative thoughts translate into actual physiological changes.  Your thoughts are not confined to your brain.  And as a result change you chemically.

The thoughts you repeat  can create an increase or decrease in certain hormones.

It is well understood that negative thoughts affect your glandular function.  Specifically the adrenal glands are stressed.  This gland will go through changes that can eventually lead to weight gain.  If you continue to view yourself as a fat person, this creates a chronic stress on these glands resulting in an increase in cortisol levels.

Your glands are in control

The hypothalamus is responsible for certain metabolic processes and other activities of the autonomic nervous system. It synthesizes and secretes certain neurohormones, often called hypothalamic releasing hormone, and these in turn stimulate the secretion of pituitary hormones. The hypothalamus controls hunger.  As the pituitary then stimulates the adrenals resulting in an increase in cortisol which then causes increase in blood glucose.  Cortisol raises the level of glucose in the blood by stimulating the liver to produce glucose from stored non-carbohydrate sources such as proteins and lipids and to release it into the blood.

Wow! All of that from one negative thought.
