The NIH found that the body mass index between 20.0 and 24.9 were optimal for the lowest risk of death in healthy non-smoking adults. For, it has been well established that people who are obese face an increased risk of deaths from heart disease, stroke and certain cancers.

If your BMI is increased to levels of 30 to 34.9 the research shows a 44 percent increase risk of death, 35.0 to 39.9 BMI showed a whopping 88 percent increase, if your BMI 40.0 to 49.9 there was an unbelievable 250 percent increase risk of death.
